Ford Updates Transit Commercial Van for 2018 Model Year
Ford has been the commercial vehicle leader in the United States for over three decades, and offers a wide variety of commercial trucks, vans and heavy duty vehicles. Ford recently announced some updates to the popular Transit commercial van, making it smarter, tougher and more useful for its customers across the country.
The Transit is now the bestselling van in America, offering a class-leading 64 different configurations. New equipment for the 2018 Transit includes a standard locking glove box, an updated rearview camera, optional extended-length running boards and an available forged alloy dual rear wheel package.
The interior of the 2018 Ford Transit gets a new optional AM/FM stereo with audio input jack, microphone and Bluetooth connectivity, D-pillar assist handles for medium and high-roof models and available charcoal leather-trimmed and heated seats.
Also announced was Ford’s expansion of its Advanced Fuel QVM program. New companies that develop and install electric and hydraulic hybrid powertrains have partnered with Ford to help its customers make their fleets greener while still retaining their original powertrain warranties.
XL Hybrids, Motiv Power Systems and Lightning Hybrids are the first three companies to offer electrification or hydraulic hybrid solutions for a number of Ford commercial vehicles, including the F-150, Super Duty, F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks and the Transit and E-Series vans.
